Poll #2 for the D2K Tour!

Greetings, fellow fans! Here's a couple sketches for five outfits from the D2K show. I will need your votes to determine which one I will polish next! The tour is coming to my hometown next week-end so I'll be traveling a bit to catch it a second time. It will be exciting to see what changes have come out from the tour's current short break since April 12! Starting this Wednesday it will introduce Cindy Lauper as the special guest, following Pat Benatar and husband Neil Giraldo who did the first 13 dates.

So, the contenders for the second D2K artwork are: #1 ballad-segment Cher (or the Jesse James is Walking in Memphis with a Heart of Stone outfit, pick your favourite), #2 the eponymous Dressed to Kill Cher, #3 Gypsy Cher, #4 Woman's World Cher (or Peacock goddess), and #5 the grand finale's Hopeful Cher (or the I Hope You Find It outfit).

I hope to get started on the next artwork soon! It will be sometime after I come back from the Ottawa show next week-end, but I'll try to have some new sketches done in the meantime. Until then, time to vote! The poll is in the left sidebar in case you haven't seen it.

First Poll for D2K!

Here's the first poll to launch the D2K artwork series! Vote for the outfit you would first like to see cartoonized and made into a wallpaper!

#1 is the show's opening gown for Woman's World, a really cool egyptian/peacock mash up. #2 is a Colosseum-borrowed look for the old-time favourite Gypsies, Tramps & Thieves which I'm glad to see again for this new tour. And #3 is a gladiatress attire for Take It Like a Man. When you're ready, the poll is on the left sidebar.

Hopefully, there will be more good quality photos of the other outfits coming up. Otherwise I'll pay good attention when I see her live next week!

Day 15: Gypsys, Tramps and Thieves

Cher's very first chart-topper single as a solo act gets you back to 1971! It is still a regular among the Hits Medley on her latest tours to this date...

I was born in the wagon of a travelin' show
My mama used to dance for the money they'd throw
Papa would do whatever he could
Preach a little gospel
Sell a couple bottles of Doctor Good

CHORUS:
Gypsies, tramps and thieves
We'd hear it from the people of the town
They'd call us gypsies, tramps and thieves
But every night all the men would come around
And lay their money down

Picked up a boy just south of Mobile
Gave him a ride, filled him with a hot meal
I was sixteen, he was twenty-one
Rode with us to Memphis
And papa woulda shot him if he knew what he'd done

Chorus

I never had schoolin' but he taught me well
With his smooth southern style
Three months later, I'm a gal in trouble
And I haven't seen him for a while
I haven't seen him for a while

She was born in the wagon of a travelin' show
Her mama had to dance for the money they'd throw
Grandpa'd do whatever he could
Preach a little gospel
Sell a couple bottles of Doctor Good

Chorus

New Art: retro "Gypsy"

Greetings, fellow fans! Today's new art is an unannounced surprise: Cher's retro look for "Gypsys, Tramps & Thieves"! This song has been performed in each one of Cher's last 3 concert tours. However, it's this suntanned look that best represents the era from which it comes from. This yellow dress was seen in the original video -the first one Cher has ever made- and which was recorded on The Sonny & Cher Comedy Hour in 1971 ...during her "suntanned" years.

You can grab the artwork in the wallpaper section today!

It's a gypsy!

...It's a tramp! It's a thief! NO! It's SuperCHER! This is the latest artwork done, based on an outfit worn during her three year run at the Caesar's Palace Colosseum in Las Vegas. It's one of those colorful and excentric outfit you can't forget once you've seen her wear it to sing "Gypsies, Tramps & Thieves".

More drawing for me for the upcoming week-end and there will be new wallpapers too! So I'm asking you: Which artwork would you like to get on your desktop? Go see the Card Coaster and write your request in the comments of this post.

And many thanks for the suggestions regarding western Cher outfits! There's still time to share your ideas on the previous post. ...with a link to a head-to-toe picture greatly appreciated!

Cher at the Movies!

After one week, it's Burlesque that got the most votes so here it is! The Shoop-Shoop outfit will go hidden in the card coaster.

I'm showing you the sketches for the next two outfits I'm working on. I'll post a final result later this week.

Cheers!
