First Poll for D2K!

Here's the first poll to launch the D2K artwork series! Vote for the outfit you would first like to see cartoonized and made into a wallpaper!

#1 is the show's opening gown for Woman's World, a really cool egyptian/peacock mash up. #2 is a Colosseum-borrowed look for the old-time favourite Gypsies, Tramps & Thieves which I'm glad to see again for this new tour. And #3 is a gladiatress attire for Take It Like a Man. When you're ready, the poll is on the left sidebar.

Hopefully, there will be more good quality photos of the other outfits coming up. Otherwise I'll pay good attention when I see her live next week!

Another Queen card is revealed today! This one highlights Cher's success in films and it features a gown she wore not so long ago for an award show in Hollywood... Can you guess which one? The answer is right there.

An unexpected poll is starting today to decide which of Cher's co-stars should be the 4th Jack figure. The nominees are Sam Elliott in "Mask", Dennis Quaid in "Suspect" and Stanley Tucci in "Burlesque". You decide the winner, fellow fans! The third Jack that will be revealed tomorrow is not among the choices in the poll.

"All or Nothing" Poll Results

Roll the drums for the latest winner outfit chosen by you, fellow fans! ...the flamboyant hindu princess from the record-breaking Farewell Tour! Cher made the longest concert run in North America with that show which also traveled around the world. It's therefore no wonder that many of the outfits from this show are now well remembered and beloved.

As voted by you in the latest poll, this outfit will be featured and paired with the song "All or Nothing" in the upcoming Cher Playing Cards project. Another good choice, fellow fans! Stay tuned for another poll in the near future. ...Any suggestions?

The "All or Nothing" poll!

The new poll is on, fellow fans! This time it's for "All or Nothing", a favorite from the Believe album which was released in 1999. It has been a recurring song in every concert tour that Cher has made since then, as always through a very eclectic array of outfits as you will see!

1st is the hindu princess look she had for the Farewell Tour between 2002 and 2005. She would arrive on stage accompanied by a gayatri mantra melody and riding nothing less than a big purple elephant. ...! 2nd is the sultan themed outfit that was made for the Colosseum show in Las Vegas. And 3rd is from the music video which showed a mishmash of various clips from the Do You Believe? concert, along with some new footage of Cher wearing the outfit from the show's encore but paired with a red wig instead of the usual silver wig.

Now that you have been acquainted with the outfits, it's time to vote, fellow fans! Which outfit do you prefer for "All or Nothing"? Cast your vote at the top of the left sidebar and stay tune for the results next week!

The "Song for the Lonely" results

Through the darkest night
see the light shine bright...

This is pretty much as far as we could get from the barely there see-through fishnet suit from "Turn Back Time"! The bulky winter look has won this week's poll to represent "A Song for the Lonely", followed somewhat closely by one of Bob Mackie's glittery creations for The Farewell Tour. Still, this outfit from the song's music video proves well that Cher can make every possible fashion her own! It might not be the typical Cher look, but her trademark black hair and witty personality still shine through with that funky striped tuque. Another good choice, fellow fans!

Stay tuned for a new poll later this week! ...and probably a new artwork, I believe..!

The "Song for the Lonely" poll!

It's the last poll of the year, fellow fans! You have one week to decide which outfit will be paired with Cher's 2001 hit "A Song for the Lonely" from the album Living Proof, her latest so far.

1st is Cher's winter dress up as she walks around the streets of New York in the music video. 2nd, 3rd and 4th are alternate outfits she wore throughout The Farewell Tour -the tour which followed the release of the album Living Proof- to perform the song in the opening segment. And 5th is the outfit she wore at the Colosseum show in Vegas for that song. It was another Farewell outfit for "Song for the Lonely" slightly updated with a new headdress.

Which one of these five compelling Cher outfits will be chosen to embody "A Song for the Lonely"? It's for you to decide, fellow fans! As always, you can vote at the top of the sidebar on the left. The poll runs for one week so make your choice and talk about it to your friends and other Cher fans! ...and stay tuned for new artworks!

The "Shoop Shoop" results

The mermaid is saved from the sushi roll, fellow fans! You have made it the grand winner of the "Shoop Shoop" poll which ended just last night, giving it a total of 40 votes against 35 for the dotted pink outfit with 60's style hairdo. Good choice, fellow fans! The mermaid will make another colorful and extravagant artwork in the playing card deck!

As always, stay tuned for new wallpapers and probably a new poll in the next few days!

The "Shoop Shoop" Poll

A new poll is running this week, fellow fans! Remember the delightful movie from 1990 called "Mermaids"? It starred Cher as the unconventional single mother raising her two girls (Winona Ryder and Christina Ricci) in the 1960's and flirting with a local shop owner (Bob Hoskins). It also featured a cover of "The Shoop Shoop Song" by Cher, which ever since became a favorite in her latest tours and compilation albums.

This week's poll is to determine which outfit will be paired with this specific song for the playing cards. 1st is the mermaid costume that Cher's character wore for a party in the movie and which was used for promotional photoshoots. 2nd is another but more casual dress up seen in the movie and also used for promotional purposes. That's pretty much all there is to say! Now, time to vote, fellow fans!

"Believe" Poll Results

How cruel?! leaving you on the edge of your seat for 4 long days after the exciting conclusion of the "Believe" poll! Have you been biting your nails waiting to find out which outfit would be chosen to represent Cher's all-time greatest hit, fellow fans?

Two costumes shared the top spot as your favorite "Believe" outfit when the poll came to an end last Wednesday. Among all 5 choices that were on the line, it's the red-head Colosseum show outfit and the music video outfit that got the most votes.

After debating for a while, I decided to opt for the latter but using the pose of the former. ...So there will still be a little bit of both in the final result! You can see a more definitive sketch above between the two photos.

Stay tuned for the next poll, fellow fans! Do you have a song in mind? "Shoop Shoop"? "All or Nothing"? ...Surprise me with a suggestion!

The "Believe" poll

"Do you believe in life after love?"

It's time to find the most memorable, beloved, striking outfit to highlight the biggest hit of Cher's entire career: "Believe"!

Get ready for you have enough to be overwhelmed by all your choices. This song served for the big encore to each of Cher's latest concert tours and each time she strutted in some stunning outfits to honor her all-time greatest hit (...so far!)

1st is her dress up for the song during the Do you Believe? tour in 1999 which promoted the newly released "Believe" album. 2nd was for the grande finale of The Farewell Tour which ran from 2002 to 2005. 3rd and 4th were both worn during her recent comeback at the Colosseum of Caesar's Palace in Las Vegas. And last but not least, the 5th evokes the "Believe" music video in which Cher had two different outfits. It combines the fancy headdress of one and the rock star dress up of the other, just as Cher did for the 26th Annual American Music Awards in 1999.

Time to vote, fellow fans! Your participation to the last poll has been a tremendous help! Thanks to all for your comments and votes. The blog has reached 20 fellow members so far and gathered 87 voters for the last poll. Woot woot! The numbers keep growing!

"Jesse James" poll results

4 days and 87 votes later, the "Jesse James" poll has come down to a tie! 43 fellow fans favored the two lovely outfits pictured above, while the remaining outfits (shown below) both gathered 31 votes each. Thanks to all for your participation and comments! The two winning outfits will go back to the drawing board to be completed and included in the Cher Playing Cards!

Stay tuned for tomorrow. The next poll is one that you will not want to miss!

Apologies... False start

Hey, fellow fans! I noticed the poll would only let you choose one outfit so I had to reinitialize it to fix this problem. My deepest apologies for the inconvience. I will let the poll run for an extra day to make up for it. Thanks for your understanding!

...But most greatly, thanks for your participation!

"Strong Enough" poll results

The "Strong Enough" poll is now officially over! After one week of voting and debating over 4 different outfits, you have proclaimed Cher's "Strong Enough" video outfit to be the big winner! It collected a staggering 43% of the votes, followed by the red-head dress up from the Farewell Tour with a respectable 34%.

Here's an updated sketch for the winner outfit. Little more dynamic than the first pose so that it may fit better with the uplifting mood of the song. ...and also to give it more presence on the playing card (but that's design matter. I'll bother with that). By the way, have you seen the new icon in the address bar at the top of your internet browser? Sassy, isn't it!

Now it's time to vote on the next poll, fellow fans: it's cowboy Cher!

December 03, 2011

The "Jesse James" poll

Get ready for the new poll, fellow fans! You get to choose your 2 favorite cowboyesque outfits from Cher's wardrobe to showcase hits such as "Just Like Jesse James" and "A Cowboy's Work is Never Done".

1st we have Cher's dress up for the "Just Like Jesse James" song during the Love Hurts tour in 1992. 2nd was seen on stage in 1980 for a country medley performance during a special show called Celebration at Caesar's Palace. The funky 3rd outfit is from a photoshoot for Malibu Cowboy boots in 2009. And at last, the 4th outfit was used during both Farewell and Colosseum shows to perform various ballad songs.

You'll have to be fast on your guns this week because the poll will run for four days only. So take a glimpse at all choices taken from your suggestions over the last two weeks and cast your vote, fellow fans!

Thanks for all the suggestions that were sent! Head-to-toe picture was a major requirement so some outfits had to be discarded unfortunately...

The "Strong Enough" Poll

It's time for the second outfit poll! This week you must choose which of these four outfits should be paired with the song "Strong Enough".

The 1st outfit is from the original "If I Could Turn Back Time" music video we all remember so well. The 2nd outfit is probably more embedded into people's mind than the first. Cher wore this outfit for her latest shows' finale (Farewell and Colosseum) to perform "Strong Enough" followed by "...Turn Back Time". She also made a big impact when she appeared with it at the 2010 Video Music Awards alongside Lady Gaga. The 3rd outfit was seen in the music video of "Strong Enough". And finally, Cher wore the 4th outfit to sing this same song during the finale of her Do you Believe? tour in 1999.

Which Cher outfit do you prefer for "Strong Enough"? (The poll is at the top of the left sidebar. Comments are welcome as well). At the same time, it will also determine the outfit for "Turn Back Time"... It's either the first or second, but surely the second outfit will have a spot somewhere in the playing cards.

The Dark Lady poll

The Cher Playing Cards is asking for fans' opinion! Considering the extensive wardrobe of our beloved diva, it is sometime a hard task to choose the perfect outfit to pair with each music hit. This week, the question is: "Which outfit makes the greatest Dark Lady!" In the run, we have #1- Cher's black veiled dress from the Sonny & Cher Show when she sang the famous single. #2- a witch outfit worn for a special Halloween performance during her Love Hurts tour in the early 90's, and #3- a black feathered extravaganza designed by Bob Mackie for a Cher Show in the 70's.

So which of these outfit makes the perfect Dark Lady, fellow fans? Answer the new poll (at the top of the left handside)!
