New art: "Love and Understanding"

Today's new artwork is from the music video of "Love and Understanding", a song penned by the great Diane Warren. Can you guess in what years? The ripped jeans give it away pretty easily so if you guessed somewhere in the 90s, congrats! More precisely in 1991 from the album Love Hurts, which was certainly a great success for Cher as it also contains 3 more fan-favorite hits that inspired artworks for the Cher Playing Cards project: "Save Up All Your Tears", "Love Hurts" and "The Shoop Shoop Song".

New concept art

Did you notice that the artwork had changed recently on the top banner? I have been reworking the concept of the playing cards' "wrapping" lately and trying to elaborate a more singular identity to this project. The previous pink and purple scheme seemed too reminiscent of the Farewell Tour merchandising.

For some reason, I am widely inspired by an art deco feel for the Cher Playing Cards. It has a nostalgic touch that can still look fresh and modern if it is well exploited. As for the logo, I was eager to come up with something new as well, while still keeping some kind of familiarity to the previous Cher "identities" from her previous tours and albums. The Cher Show logo has a strong appeal and purity that seemed perfect to start from. I played with it to give it a little cartoony spin, gave some sepia and purplish gray hues to the whole picture, and voilà! We've got a gorgeous look for the Cher Playing Cards!

New Art: retro "Gypsy"

Greetings, fellow fans! Today's new art is an unannounced surprise: Cher's retro look for "Gypsys, Tramps & Thieves"! This song has been performed in each one of Cher's last 3 concert tours. However, it's this suntanned look that best represents the era from which it comes from. This yellow dress was seen in the original video -the first one Cher has ever made- and which was recorded on The Sonny & Cher Comedy Hour in 1971 ...during her "suntanned" years.

With such a strong thematic and an awesome song to go with it, it was just a matter of time before this outfit gets its artwork! "Pirate" is a little gem from the 1977 album Cherished and if you haven't heard the song yet, rush over to this link and have yourself a treat. You will be whistling the melody all day!

New Art: The Mighty Cher!

Greetings, fellow fans! There's quite a few sketches in the line up so the polls are on hold until these are completed. In the meantime, keep enjoying the new artworks!
